Lead from the left seat and shape the next generation of tactical aircrew. As a KC-130 Instructor Pilot (Captain), you’ll leverage your KC-130H/T expertise to deliver mission-ready training, set the standard for safety and performance, and mentor crews in a high-tempo environment.

🧭 What you’ll do

  • Serve as PIC and Instructor Pilot on KC-130H/T missions, providing flight, simulator, and ground instruction.
  • Plan, brief, execute, and debrief mission profiles with uncompromising safety, SOP adherence, and instructional rigor.
  • Conduct evaluations, progress checks, and standardization rides; document performance and training outcomes.
  • Develop and refine lesson plans, checklists, and training materials aligned to current tactics and regulations.
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and safety teams to maximize aircraft availability and mission effectiveness.
  • Model disciplined airmanship, CRM, and leadership while mentoring multi-disciplinary aircrew.

🧰 What you’ll bring

  • KC-130H/T qualification: Fully qualified KC-130H/T pilot and formally designated Instructor Pilot by competent authority (required).
  • Type rating: KC-130H/T type rating (required).
  • Licensing: FAA CPL with IR and ME (accepted).
  • Medical: FAA Class 2 (current and maintained).
  • Flight time: Preferred 700+ hours total military flight time.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Strong supervisory leadership; ability to prioritize and delegate effectively.
  • Outstanding organization, attention to detail, and time management with a record of meeting deadlines.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving ability; composure in high-paced, sometimes stressful environments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Reliable attendance, punctuality, professional appearance, and flexibility to work varied hours and respond on short notice.

🌟 Clearance, compliance & eligibility

  • Security: Active U.S. SECRET clearance required; position is subject to government security investigation.
  • Installation access: Ability to pass background checks to obtain/retain access to specific installation bases to perform work for GMRE.
  • Ability to maintain all required medical and flight qualifications at all times.

🚗 Travel & logistics

  • Travel: Occasional travel for meetings, training, and site visits.
  • Driving: Driving or renting a vehicle for company business is expected with some frequency; a valid driver’s license is required for insurance purposes.

📚 Training, standards & safety

  • Successfully complete all prescribed instructor training and evaluation requirements.
  • Uphold and advance standardization, SMS practices, and regulatory compliance across flight operations.
  • Continuously improve syllabi and mission profiles to reflect current tactics, techniques, and procedures.
