Step into the left seat of a modern light jet and set the tone for safety, service, and smooth operations. As Lead Captain on the HondaJet HA-420, you’ll pair precision airmanship with exceptional client care while mentoring crew and championing operational excellence.
🧭 Role overview
As the designated Pilot-in-Command, you will lead all phases of HondaJet operations—from meticulous preflight planning through to a polished passenger experience—while maintaining the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and discretion. This role suits a customer service–oriented aviator who performs at their best under pressure.
🧰 What you’ll do
- Serve as PIC on the HA-420, exercising sound judgment and ensuring uncompromising safety and compliance.
- Own the flight planning process: performance, weight and balance, weather, NOTAMs, fuel strategy, alternates, and risk assessment.
- Deliver a refined, friendly, and discreet passenger experience; anticipate needs and resolve issues proactively.
- Coordinate with dispatch, scheduling, and maintenance to ensure aircraft readiness and accurate documentation.
- Lead crew briefings; model CRM and SOP adherence; mentor the SIC and support continuous improvement.
- Manage irregular operations and time-critical decisions calmly and effectively.
- Maintain currency, training, and systems proficiency; uphold a just culture and safety reporting.
🌟 Minimum qualifications
- Total time: 2,500 hours
- PIC time: 1,500 hours
- Jet time: 1,500 hours
- License required: ATPL (TCCA)
- Medical: Class 1
- ICAO ELP: Level 4
- Customer focus: Demonstrated customer service orientation
- Performance: Proven ability to work under pressure
💡 Preferred
- HondaJet experience: Previous time on the HA-420
- Type rating: Current HA-420 type rating

- Type rating training: Provided for qualified, non-type-rated candidates
- Ongoing development: Recurrent training, systems upgrades, and leadership mentorship
