Lead specialist calibration flights across the UK and Europe, ensuring the accuracy of aeronautical navigation, approach and landing aids—including surveillance radar—for civil and military customers. Join a tight-knit crew where professionalism, agility, and on-time delivery are paramount.

  • Base: Teesside (within 30 nm)
  • Fleet: Multi-Engine Piston & Multi-Engine Turbine
  • Type Rating: Not required — training provided (NTR)
  • Travel: Several nights away per month across the UK & Europe

🧭 What you’ll do

  • Captain multi‑engine piston and turbine aircraft to conduct in‑flight calibration of navigation, approach and landing aids, including surveillance radar.
  • Plan, brief, and execute calibration tasking safely and efficiently, maintaining the highest professional standards and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead a small onboard team, adapting dynamically to weather, operational changes, and customer asset availability.
  • Ensure accurate, timely mission delivery and clear reporting to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Operate in accordance with EU 965/2012 Parts ORO and SPO.

🧰 What you’ll bring

  • Total Time: 2,500 hours minimum.
  • Currency: Current MEP.
  • Licences: UK CAA CPL with IR and ME.
  • Medical: Class 1.
  • English Proficiency: ICAO ELP Level 4 or higher.
  • Knowledge: Working knowledge of EU 965/2012 Parts ORO and SPO.
  • Team Fit: Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a small team and accept a flexible approach to rostering.
  • Location: Resides within 30 nm of Teesside.
  • Right to Work: Eligible to live and work in the UK; acceptable to the MOD for a contractor pass.

🌟 Security clearance

This role requires SC Clearance. Existing clearance is advantageous; otherwise, you must be willing and eligible to undergo, achieve, and maintain SC Clearance.

  • Typically requires UK residency for the last 5 years.
  • In some cases, a minimum of 3 years’ UK residency in the past 5 years may be accepted with additional overseas checks.
