Fixed‑Wing ISR Pilot in Command (PIC) – BBD‑700 (ATHENA Program)

✈️ Lead the Mission: BBD‑700 Pilot in Command for ATHENA ISR

Join MAG Aerospace as the Pilot in Command at the controls of a modified BBD‑700 on the ATHENA Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) program. You’ll captain Contractor Owned/Contractor Operated (COCO) fixed‑wing missions, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations across challenging environments, day or night, in both VMC and IMC.

  • Location: OCONUS (Korea)
  • Roster: 60/60 rotational deployment
  • Platform: ATHENA BBD‑700 fixed‑wing ISR – modified COCO aircraft

🧭 What you’ll do

  • Serve as PIC for ATHENA BBD‑700 ISR sorties, executing safe, effective, and efficient flight operations.
  • Lead pre‑flight planning, performance calculations, weather/NOTAM reviews, and thorough aircraft pre‑flight inspections.
  • Identify aircraft maintenance discrepancies and coordinate corrective actions; complete all safety‑of‑flight documentation to industry and FAA standards.
  • Coordinate mission execution with Airborne Sensor Operators, Primary Mission Equipment Operators, and Mission Commanders.
  • Monitor airspace, weather, radios, mission boundaries, and aircraft systems throughout each phase of flight.
  • Interface with Fixed Base Operators, military range control, and both military and civilian Air Traffic Control facilities.
  • Operate under commercial and Host Nation regulations and program policies and procedures.
  • Fly day/night in VMC and IMC, maintaining night currency and instrument proficiency.
  • Uphold the highest standards of crew safety, risk management, and customer relations; perform additional duties assigned by the MAG Chief Pilot.

🧰 What you bring (Required)

  • Flight time: 3,000 hours total time; 2,000 hours PIC; 1,000 hours multi‑engine turbine.
  • Licenses & medical: Current FAA Class II Medical; FAA Commercial Pilot (CPL) or Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) license.
  • Radio & survival: FCC Commercial Radio Operator License; SERE Level C, SERE 220, or SV83/83A training.
  • Eligibility: U.S. citizen with an active Top Secret clearance.
  • Travel readiness: Valid passport (minimum six months remaining) and ability to obtain international visas.
  • Deployment: Willingness to deploy OCONUS on an approximate 60/60 rotation; subject to post‑offer, pre‑hire, pre‑deployment medical assessment.

Note on waivers: The MAG Chief Pilot may waive the 3,000/2,000/1,000‑hour thresholds for prior military‑service pilots who hold a BBD‑700 type rating and have at least 500 hours in the BBD‑700 (excluding simulator time).

🌟 Preferred qualifications

  • Former U.S. military or government law‑enforcement pilot experience.
  • Prior overseas rotations in USCENTCOM, USAFRICOM, or USAPACOM areas of operation.
  • USSOCOM global‑operations experience.
  • Time in aircraft with MTOW ≥ 44,000 lbs.
  • BBD‑700 type rating.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and approximately 7–9 years of related experience.

🗺️ Operating environment & schedule

  • Supports missions across CONUS and OCONUS locations, including austere or primitive sites.
  • Approximately 60/60 rotational deployment cycle.
  • Close coordination with Site Operations Officers and mission teams to ensure seamless sortie execution.
