First Officer, Western U.S. — NetJets

✈️ The Opportunity

NetJets First Officers are both expert aviators and trusted hosts. You’ll operate to the highest standards from taxi to touchdown while acting as the primary onboard representative for our Owners and passengers. The role spans multiple western bases and requires the flexibility to adapt to changing schedules, time zones, and weather, as well as readiness for international operations.

🧭 Where You’ll Be Based

• Regional Bases: California, Arizona, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Nevada, Montana
• Operate from a variety of FBOs across the West; assignments may vary based on operational needs.

🧰 What You’ll Do

• Operate the aircraft safely and compliantly from taxi through takeoff, enroute, approach, and landing per FAA guidance, OEM checklists, the NetJets Flight Operations Manual or Aircraft Operating Manual, and applicable Standard Operating Practices.
• Greet Owners and passengers; confirm itinerary, brief on flight and safety, provide weather updates, and communicate any changes.
• Deliver in-flight service as needed, including coordinating/serving catering and alcohol within policy.
• Load, secure, and manage baggage; support flights with pets and flights with passengers who smoke.
• Act as final authority on the aircraft for operational decisions and regulatory compliance.
• Serve as the liaison between Owners, passengers, and NetJets from arrival at the departure FBO through arrival at destination.
• Coordinate maintenance abnormalities/discrepancies with the fleet Maintenance Control Center and complete required paperwork.
• Perform other duties as assigned based on aircraft and operational assignments.

🎯 Flight Time & Certification Pathways

• Accepted ATP pathways (multi-engine under 61.160 where applicable):
  • 1,500 hours total time; or
  • 1,250 hours with an eligible university R-ATP certificate; or
  • 1,000 hours with a qualifying military pilot background; or
  • 1,000 hours with an eligible university R-ATP certificate.
• Minimums (fixed-wing unless noted):
  • Total time: 1,000+ hours (per accepted pathways above)
  • PIC: 250+ hours
  • Multi-engine: 50+ hours
  • Cross-country: 200+ hours over 50 NM
  • Night: 100+ hours (or FAA-approved reduced alternative)
  • Instrument: 75+ hours (excluding simulator)
• Certificates & Docs: Written FAA ATP (completed prior to Indoctrination Training); current FAA First-Class Medical; FCC Restricted Radio Operator Permit; valid passport; authorization to work in the U.S.; unrestricted international travel capability; valid state driver’s license.
• Age & Language: 21+ years old; fluent in spoken and written English.
• Security: Successful TSA background check; ability to obtain airport authority and/or U.S. Customs security badges.

NetJets accepts an FAA ATP, a Restricted ATP, or candidates who meet ATP/R-ATP requirements with a multi-engine rating under 61.160.

• High school education or equivalent.
• Calm, clear communication under pressure; quick, accurate, and detail-oriented decision-making.
• Professional, polished, and service-forward presentation; positive, empathetic passenger interaction.
• Ability to handle pets/animals and work flights with passengers who smoke.
• Physical readiness to exert up to 50 lbs occasionally, 30 lbs frequently, and 10 lbs constantly.

⏱️ Schedule & Lifestyle

• Variable day/night schedules across weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
• Duty periods up to 14 hours per day for as many as eight consecutive days.
• Seven or more nights away from home in hotels per tour; frequent time zone transitions and weather variability.
• Active rest management in alignment with flight duty and safety requirements.

• Base Salary Range: $86,015 – $117,706
