🧭 About the role

As a First Officer, you will operate as Second-in-Command within a professional multi-crew environment, upholding the highest standards of airmanship and customer care. You’ll work closely with your Captain and crew to deliver safe, efficient, and on-time operations across a busy domestic and regional network.

  • Operate as SIC in accordance with company SOPs and regulatory requirements.
  • Plan and conduct flights, including performance calculations, fuel planning, and execution of IAP 2D and 3D approaches.
  • Manage aircraft systems and the FMS, monitoring automation and situational awareness.
  • Demonstrate excellent CRM and apply TEM principles throughout each phase of flight.
  • Contribute to a strong safety culture, reporting and continuous improvement initiatives, and ongoing training/proficiency checks.

🧰 Minimum requirements

  • Total time: 500 hours
  • CASA licence meeting frozen ATPL standard
  • Australian Multi-Engine Aeroplane Instrument Rating with IAP 2D and 3D endorsements
  • MCC certificate or demonstrable experience in a multi-crew operation
  • Class 1 medical
  • ICAO ELP Level 6
  • Australian or New Zealand citizenship/permanent residency or unrestricted right to work without sponsorship

🔐 Additional requirements

  • Ability to pass a Qantas pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol test
  • Ability to obtain and hold an ASIC
  • Current passport with unrestricted access to all Qantas ports of call and at least 12 months validity

Note: Applicants must be able to meet all security, medical, and operational clearances.

🌟 Preferred experience

  • Type rating on A320, F100, or E190
  • Time and recency on applicable type
  • Recent experience on an airline jet type
  • Established multi-crew airline experience
