Lead missions worldwide as a type-rated Dash 8 Captain. You’ll helm safe, compliant, and efficient operations as Pilot in Command—and step in as Second in Command when required—for a globally deployable, Home of Record (
HOR
)-based assignment.
✈️ Role overview
As a Fixed-Wing Pilot in Command, you will serve as DHC‑8 Captain and, as needed, Second in Command for global operations. You will plan flight assignments, assess weather and operating procedures, incorporate special instructions, and execute missions to the highest safety and regulatory standards across diverse environments.
🧭 What you’ll do
- Act as Pilot in Command (PIC) on the DHC‑8; serve as Second in Command (SIC) when required.
- Plan and brief flights: mission purpose, routing, performance, fuel, alternates, and risk mitigation.
- Interpret weather and NOTAMs; compute weight and balance; ensure regulatory and SOP compliance.
- Coordinate with dispatch, maintenance, and ground teams for mission readiness and aircraft status.
- Operate to professional standards in varied and austere environments while maintaining safety margins.
- Maintain meticulous logs, reports, and documentation as required by company and regulatory authorities.
🧰 Minimum requirements
- Total Time: 1,500 hours
- Multi-Engine PIC: 300 hours
- Turbine: 500 hours
- Type Rating: DHC‑8 / Dash 8 (required)
- License: CPL, IR, ME (FAA)
- Medical: Class 2
- Education: High school diploma or GED
- Permit: FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit
- Language: English; Spanish L‑2/R‑2 required for LATAM programs
- Vaccination: COVID‑19 vaccination required where permitted by applicable law
🌟 Additional requirements
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally for 180+ days per year; schedule may vary monthly.
- Obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
- Complete DHC‑8 Readiness Level (RL) training within 90 days of integration.
- Previous military fixed-wing flight training qualification or civilian equivalent.
- OCONUS: Host Nation equivalent certifications may be accepted in lieu of FAA certifications where applicable.
🧰 Preferred qualifications
- FAA CFI / CFII / MEI
- Documented Functional Check Pilot (FCP) / Maintenance Test Pilot (MTP) training with Maintenance Evaluator designation.
- ATP certificate.
- Prior military pilot experience and/or pilot support on the DoS INLA program.
🧭 Licensing & eligibility
- Open to License Holders: FAA
- Clearance: Ability to obtain/maintain Secret
- Programs: Spanish L‑2/R‑2 required for LATAM assignments
