As a Twin Engine Seaplane Captain, you will fly scheduled and charter services across iconic Caribbean destinations, operating safely in tropical marine environments—from bustling harbors to coral-fringed coastlines. 🧭 The mission
Pilot a multi-engine floatplane with confidence, navigating open water, channels, and congested harbors. You will balance safety with service, connecting travelers, communities, and resorts across the Caribbean with smooth, timely operations.
🧰 What you’ll do
- Captain DHC-6 Twin Otter float operations on scheduled and ad-hoc charters between islands.
- Execute water operations including taxi, docking, mooring, beaching, and ramp movements with exemplary airmanship.
- Assess weather, visibility, sea state, currents, tides, and marine traffic to ensure safe departures and arrivals.
- Plan performance, fuel, payload, and weight & balance specific to float-equipped multi-engine aircraft.
- Operate within FAA Part 121/135 SOPs; maintain meticulous checklists, logs, and operational discipline.
- Lead effective crew coordination; deliver clear passenger briefings and a welcoming onboard experience.
- Coordinate with marine, ramp, and resort partners to uphold punctuality and service standards.
- Participate in training, line checks, and recurrent proficiency to sustain high safety margins.
🌟 Minimum requirements
- Licenses: FAA ATP Written completed; Float (Seaplane) Rating
- Medical: Class 1
- Experience: Prior experience in FAA Part 121 or 135 operations
- Proficiency: Demonstrated seaplane operations in coastal, island, or open-water environments
💡 Preferred qualifications
- ATP PIC time: In aircraft such as the De Havilland DHC-6 Twin Otter (on floats), Grumman G-73 Mallard, or similar multi-engine seaplanes
🎯 Training and type rating
No DHC-6 type rating? No problem. This is an NTR opportunity with company-provided training. Qualified floatplane captains will complete ground school, water-operations training, supervised line indoctrination, and recurrent checks under our approved programs.
