  • Operation: Deployed tactical ISR
  • Aircraft: De Havilland Canada Dash 8
  • Rotation: Approximately 65 days away based on customer needs (longer if required)
  • Type Rating: Not required (training provided)
  • Licenses: CPL, IR, ME — FAA only
  • Medical: Class 2
  • Endorsements: High Performance & High Altitude
  • Permit: Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit
  • Education: High school diploma
  • NTR: Non‑type‑rated applicants encouraged

🧭 The mission

As the deployed Dash 8 Captain, you will deliver safe, disciplined flight operations supporting tactical ISR objectives in challenging environments. Partner closely with crew and ground teams, execute procedural excellence, and adapt to dynamic tasking while maintaining the highest standards of airmanship and safety.

✈️ What you’ll do

  • Captain Dash 8 multi‑engine turbine aircraft for deployed ISR missions in austere locations.
  • Lead preflight planning, performance calculations, risk assessments, and mission briefs/debriefs.
  • Operate within enclosed hangars and varied exterior weather conditions; uphold SOPs and regulatory compliance.
  • Work in close proximity with a small, multi‑disciplinary crew to achieve time‑sensitive objectives.
  • Maintain aircraft custody, documentation, and mission readiness on rotational deployments (~65 days, as required).

🧰 Minimum requirements

  • Total time: 1,200 hours
  • Pilot‑in‑Command (PIC) time: 1,000 hours
  • Multi‑engine turbine PIC: 300 hours
  • Licenses: CPL, IR, ME (FAA)
  • Medical: Class 2
  • Endorsements: High Performance and High Altitude
  • Permit: Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit
  • Education: High school diploma
  • Travel: Ability to deploy away from home location ~65 days per rotation; extend as needed
  • Teamwork: Comfortable working in close quarters and as part of a tight‑knit crew
  • Type rating: Not required — training provided
