Jet Aviation Staffing is recruiting, on behalf of an external client, a full-time Citation XLS Captain / Pilot in Command for a high-caliber FAA FAR Part 135 operation. This is a commutable role with a preference for pilots based in the Central or Eastern time zones. You’ll champion safety, professionalism, and a refined passenger experience while executing efficient, compliant flight operations.

  • Schedule: 8 days on / 6 days off

✈️ The mission

Serve as Pilot in Command on Citation XLS flights under Part 135, providing decisive leadership, disciplined CRM, and sound aeronautical decision-making while delivering an exceptional, customer-focused experience.

🧭 What you’ll do

  • Act as PIC for Citation XLS/XLS+ operations, upholding the highest standards of flight safety and judgment.
  • Conduct thorough flight planning, performance and weight/balance, weather evaluation, aircraft inspections, and risk assessments.
  • Ensure full compliance with FAA regulations, company manuals, Operations Specifications, and all applicable procedures.
  • Lead effective CRM; coordinate seamlessly with Dispatch, Maintenance, and Operations.
  • Complete all required aircraft, flight, and safety documentation accurately and on time.
  • Maintain professional, customer-centric interactions with passengers and company representatives.
  • Participate in recurrent training, proficiency checks, safety meetings, and company programs to foster a culture of safety, accountability, and excellence.

🧰 What you bring

  • Certificates & qualifications (minimum):
    • FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate (unrestricted or restricted, as applicable).
    • Appropriate FAA medical certificate.
    • Citation XLS/XLS+ PIC type rating.
    • Meets all applicable 14 CFR Part 135 PIC experience, currency, training, and checking requirements.
  • Knowledge & skills:
    • Strong IFR operations knowledge, weather analysis, and flight planning expertise.
    • Excellent communication, CRM, and decision-making skills.
    • Professional appearance and demeanor; customer-service mindset.
  • Workstyle: Ability to work variable schedules, including weekends, holidays, and overnights; commutable with Central/Eastern time zone preference.
  • Eligibility: Legal authorization to work in the United States.

🌟 Preferred profile

  • Previous Part 135 PIC experience; Citation XLS/XLS+ experience.
  • Corporate or charter aviation background.
  • 3,000+ total time, 1,000+ turbine, 1,000+ multiengine, and 250+ hours in type.
