✈️ The Opportunity
Join a tight-knit two-pilot team flying a well-equipped Citation CJ3 for a high-end Part 135 operation based in the heart of the Rockies. You’ll captain a mission mix of approximately 275 flight hours annually — about 150 hours of owner flying and 125 hours of charter — with operations conducted domestically and primarily single-pilot, utilizing a co-pilot when needed.
Note: Flight activity and crewing may vary based on operational demands and regulatory considerations.
🧭 What You’ll Do
- Serve as Pilot in Command for domestic Part 135 missions, ensuring the highest safety and compliance standards.
- Plan and execute flights, including comprehensive performance, weather, fuel, and alternates analysis with sound decision-making under pressure.
- Operate primarily single-pilot in the CJ3, employing effective CRM and utilizing a co-pilot when operationally appropriate.
- Champion Safety Management System (SMS) practices and continuous risk assessment in mountain and high-altitude environments.
- Coordinate seamlessly with the owner, charter clients, dispatch, and maintenance to deliver a polished, customer-focused experience.
- Maintain currency, training, and meticulous records in alignment with FAA Part 135 requirements.
- Leverage modern flight planning and aviation management software to streamline operations end-to-end.
🧰 Minimum Requirements
- Total Time: 3,000 hours
- PIC: 1,500 hours
- Multi-Engine: 1,500 hours (including 500 hours Multi-Engine PIC)
- Turbine: 1,000 hours
- Instrument: 500 hours
- License: ATP (FAA)
- Medical: First Class
- Type Rating: Not required — CE-525B training provided (NTR)
- Strong knowledge of FAA regulations, flight planning, and Safety Management Systems.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills; decisive and calm under pressure.
- Proficiency with flight planning and aviation management software.
🌟 Preferred Qualifications
- CE-525B type rating highly desirable.
- Mountain flying experience in Aspen, CO (ASE) highly desirable.
- Previous Part 135 experience highly desirable.
🧭 Training & Development
Non-type-rated captains are welcome — full CE-525B training provided. You’ll maintain currency through recurrent training tailored to Part 135 and high-altitude performance requirements.
