Chief Pilot – San Luis Obispo (KSBP)

✈️ About the role

ACI Jet’s Chief Pilot champions the professional standards of every crewmember and steers the implementation of flight operations policies and procedures in coordination with the Director of Operations. You’ll supervise and mentor flight, dispatch, and training teams; manage critical regulatory programs; and represent the certificate holder with the FAA — all while maintaining proficiency as Pilot-in-Command.

🧭 What you’ll do

• Supervise and manage flight crews; hire, terminate, and assign crewmembers to duty positions.
• Coordinate with Dispatch on crew assignments and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
• Oversee Dispatch personnel with respect to regulatory, policy, and procedural adherence.
• Supervise the Director of Training regarding all training activities for flight crew, dispatchers, and cabin crew.
• Partner with the Director of Operations to formulate, implement, and refine operations policies and procedures.
• Add and remove aircraft from ACI Jet’s certificate; ensure required documentation is onboard all aircraft.
• Maintain the aircraft weight and balance program and ensure accuracy across the fleet.
• Ensure all flight crew are qualified, current, and scheduled in accordance with Operations Specifications and applicable FARs.
• Manage ACI Jet’s MEL program and related operational controls.
• Act for the certificate holder, including signing FAA correspondence and Operations Specifications.
• Maintain personal proficiency and currency as Pilot-in-Command (PIC).

🧰 What you bring

• Minimum 5,000 hours total flight time.
• International and oceanic operations experience.
• 3+ years of leadership/management experience.
• Meets all qualifications of CFR Part 119.71.
• Current and valid Pilot’s Certificate with English Proficient endorsement.
• Valid, unrestricted ATP rating.
• Able to obtain and maintain a First Class Medical.
• Able to maintain a valid U.S. Passport.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, or 3–5 years of professional aviation experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of applicable Federal Aviation Regulations.
• Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
• No FAA regulatory violations within the last 5 years.

🌟 Highly desirable

• Prior Chief Pilot experience.
• Previous FAR Part 135 experience.
• Operating experience with Bombardier, Cessna, or Gulfstream aircraft.
