Challenger 605 Captain (PIC) & Aircraft/Crew Manager – San Luis Obispo (KSBP)

🧭 The opportunity

As the Aircraft and Crew Manager (ACM) and Challenger 605 PIC, you’ll blend leadership and line flying: directing day-to-day aircraft operations, ensuring owner satisfaction, mentoring crewmembers, and executing safe, compliant, and service-driven flights for both owner and charter missions.

🧰 What you’ll lead and do

• Serve as ACM and PIC (and SIC when assigned) for the based Challenger 605; operate Part 91/135 under EJM’s Part 135 certificate.
• Own the aircraft–owner relationship; collaborate with ACI Jet Flight Operations Management to ensure total operational success and satisfaction.
• Oversee all owner travel, including trips you are not crewing; coordinate schedules and logistics to deliver seamless experiences.
• Recruit or assist in recruiting crewmembers; assign crew to trips, balance workload fairly, and maintain crew currency and competence.
• Act as the assigned-aircraft subject matter expert; maintain high technical proficiency and mentor pilots on the account.
• Ensure the aircraft is properly outfitted for client needs, including passenger-service items and mission-specific equipment.
• Coordinate maintenance with the Director of Maintenance; ensure airworthiness and operational readiness at all times.
• Provide financial stewardship: align revenue/expenses with owner expectations, verify monthly invoices, and complete monthly owner reports.
• Respond promptly to operational questions from Dispatch, Maintenance, and pilots; research issues to provide informed guidance.
• Conduct safe, efficient operations in accordance with company procedures, manufacturer limitations/manuals, governmental regulations, ACI Jet SOPs, and the GOM.
• Execute thorough preflight planning and inspection: aircraft, publications, documentation, equipment, fuel, weather, customs/permits, and airport/runway suitability.
• Deliver courteous, professional service to aircraft owners, EJM charter clients, vendors, and colleagues.

🌟 What you bring

• Flight time minimums: 3,500+ total hours; 2,000+ PIC; 1,500+ multi-engine; 300+ instrument.
• Certificates/medical: ATP (unrestricted or restricted) with English-proficient endorsement; FAA First Class Medical; valid United States passport.
• Compliance: Meet ICAO Annex I, Section 2.1.10 and all EJM Charter Pilot eligibility requirements.
• Type rating: CL-604/605 type rating highly desired (not required).
• Education/experience: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or 3–5 years of professional aviation experience.
• Location: Reside—or be willing to relocate—within a two-hour drive of KSBP.
