  • Compliance: DOT pre-employment drug test; no FAA accident history or regulatory violations
  • Reporting: Administratively to the Chief Pilot; functionally to the Captain

✈️ About the role

The First Officer (FO) serves as Second-in-Command (SIC) of the flight. In close coordination with the Captain, you’ll execute all phases of flight in full compliance with company policies, operating manuals, and applicable regulations. You’ll bring sharp judgment, clear communication, and a hospitality mindset to represent Gridiron Air with professionalism on every mission.

🧭 What you’ll do

  • Operate the Boeing 777 as SIC in accordance with the Captain’s direction, company SOPs, and all regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct thorough preflight planning, performance calculations, and systems setup; program and verify FMS and navigation data.
  • Execute standard calls, checklists, and CRM best practices to ensure safe, efficient flight operations.
  • Maintain vigilant flight path monitoring, fuel management, and automation oversight across all phases of flight.
  • Communicate clearly with ATC, crew, and stakeholders; provide exceptional, safety-first service to customers and clients.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate operational risks; escalate concerns per company safety programs.
  • Uphold Gridiron Air’s values of safety, reliability, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and operational excellence.

🧰 Minimum qualifications

  • Total time: 2,000 hours (fixed wing) with EFIS/FMS/glass flight deck experience
  • Jet time: 1,000 hours
  • Part 121/91/135: 1,000 hours
  • License: FAA ATP
  • Medical: Class 1
  • Certificates: FCC Radiotelephone Permit
  • Work authorization: Legal authorization to live and work in the United States
  • Security: Eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance
  • Compliance: Pass a DOT pre-employment drug test; no FAA accident history or regulatory violations
  • Core skills: Strong communication, sharp judgment, attention to detail, and a hospitality mindset

  • Supplemental Part 121 background
  • B777 or B747 time
