✈️ Direct Entry Captain — Boeing 737NG
Take command on the Boeing 737 Next Generation in a permanent position with a safety-first carrier. We welcome seasoned Captains without a current 737 type rating — your type rating and full training are provided.
🧭 What you’ll do
- Serve as Pilot-in-Command on the Boeing 737NG in Part 121 commercial operations, championing safety, compliance, and on-time performance.
- Lead, mentor, and coordinate the flight deck and cabin crew, modeling strong CRM and sound operational decision-making.
- Execute company Operations Manuals and Boeing SOPs — normal and non-normal — with precision and consistency.
- Plan and conduct flights across controlled and uncontrolled ATC airspace, meeting performance, fuel, and regulatory requirements on every sector.
🧰 Minimum requirements
- Total time: 5,000 hours (minimum)
- PIC time: 2,000 hours
- Flight experience: Either 5,000 hours TT and 2,000 hours PIC on aircraft > 50T; OR 5,000 hours TT and 1,000 hours PIC on Boeing 737 or similar
- Recency: PIC on a large commercial airliner operating under Part 121 within the last 24 months (e.g., Boeing 737 or Airbus equivalent)
- License: Valid ATPL (ICAO)
- Medical: Class 1
- English: ELP Level 4 or higher
- Type rating: Not required — training provided

- Ability to work irregular hours (Essential)
- Willingness to sign an Upgrade Training Bond (Essential)
- Knowledge of ATC airspace and procedures
- Good knowledge of South African CARS and CATS
- Knowledge of ICAO Doc 8168 (PANS-OPS)
- Excellent knowledge of the Safair Operations Manual (OM) and Boeing SOPs — Normal & Non-Normal procedures
