✈️ The opportunity

As a First Officer on the Boeing 737 MAX, you’ll partner with an experienced Captain to operate one of the industry’s most efficient narrow‑body aircraft. You’ll join a safety‑first operation with supportive training, a friendly team environment, and the resources you need to keep your skills sharp and your career climbing.

🧭 What you’ll do

  • Operate the Boeing 737 MAX safely and efficiently under Part 121, adhering to SOPs, checklists, and company policies.
  • Exercise strong CRM, sound judgment, and leadership during normal, abnormal, and emergency operations.
  • Deliver warm, professional service while representing the brand in uniform and maintaining appearance standards.
  • Maintain regulatory currency, qualifications, and accurate records per FAA and company requirements.
  • Work rotating schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays; be available for overtime and frequent travel.

🧰 Minimum qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Certificates: ATP (FAA) and FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit
  • Medical: Current First Class
  • Driver’s License: Valid United States Driver’s License
  • Passport: Valid passport with the ability to travel in and out of the United States without restriction
  • Security: Meets all criteria to obtain and maintain a CREW badge; successful and continuous enrollment in Rap Back required
  • PRD Consent: Willing to grant and share Southwest access to your PRD information as part of interview and onboarding
  • Appearance: Able to maintain a well‑groomed appearance per Company standards
  • Type Rating: Not required — training provided

🌟 Preferred experience

  • 500+ hours in fixed‑wing turbine (airplane and/or power‑lift)
  • Actively flying fixed‑wing turbine within the last 3 years
  • Turbine Pilot‑in‑Command (TPIC) time
  • 121 airline, U.S. military, and/or other U.S.‑based flight experience (experience from foreign military organizations or foreign commercial carriers is not considered equivalent for this requirement)
  • B‑737 type rating

✈️ Flight time guidance

  • Do not include simulator, WSO, RIO, FE, NAV, EWO, or UAV time in totals.
  • Pilot‑in‑Command (PIC): Defined as Captain or Aircraft Commander of record, or the pilot signing for the aircraft (not sole manipulator of the controls).

🧭 Schedule & travel

  • Rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Overtime as operationally required
  • Frequent and continual travel
