Boeing 737 First Officer — Ottawa or Calgary | Canadian North

✈️ About the role

As a Boeing 737 First Officer, you will assist the Captain in the safe, efficient and compliant operation of our 737 fleet, delivering both passenger and cargo services that link northern communities with southern gateways including Edmonton and Ottawa. You will contribute to a professional, collaborative flight deck, uphold Canadian North’s safety culture, and represent our values with every customer interaction.

🧭 What you’ll do

• Operate the Boeing 737 in accordance with Canadian North SOPs and Transport Canada regulations.
• Conduct thorough flight planning, fuel planning, and operational risk assessments.
• Apply threat and error management, crew resource management, and maintain exceptional situational awareness.
• Follow all safety and security procedures and complete required flight documentation accurately and professionally.
• Deliver courteous, customer-focused service aligned with Canadian North’s values and culture.
• Participate in recurrent training, proficiency checks, and company safety initiatives.
• Support a positive, respectful, and team-oriented flight deck environment.

🧰 Minimum qualifications

• 1,500 hours total flight time.
• Valid Canadian ATPL, or CPL with IATRA or ATPL exams completed.
• Valid Category 1 Medical Certificate and Group 1 Instrument Rating.
• Legally entitled to work in Canada; current valid Canadian passport with required visas/travel documents for unrestricted travel.
• Meets Transport Canada English language proficiency requirements.
• Able to obtain and maintain a Transport Canada Airport Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC).
• Proven communication, teamwork, and sound decision-making skills.

• Transport-category (CARs Subpart 705) experience.
• Multi-crew, multi-engine turbine experience.
• Experience operating in northern, remote, or challenging weather environments.
• Ability to communicate in Inuktut.
