Lead safe, on‑time operations for RwandAir from its Kigali hub across Boeing 737, Airbus A330 and DHC‑8 Q400 fleets.

  • Role: Captain / Pilot‑in‑Command (PIC)

🧭 Mission

As the nominated Pilot‑in‑Command, you are responsible for the safe conduct of each flight and full compliance with Rwandan and international aviation regulations, company policies, and approved procedures.

🧰 Key responsibilities

  • Operate as Captain on the B737, A330 or Q400 fleet as nominated by RwandAir management.
  • Exercise final authority and responsibility for the safety of the aircraft, crew, passengers and cargo.
  • Ensure adherence to Rwandan civil aviation requirements and international standards, legislation, and agreed aviation practices and procedures.
  • Lead the flight crew, fostering effective CRM and decision‑making throughout all phases of flight.
  • Oversee pre‑flight planning, performance calculations, weather and NOTAM review, and operational control in coordination with dispatch.
  • Monitor and manage flight progress, aircraft systems and fuel to achieve safe, efficient, and on‑time operations.
  • Report hazards and occurrences promptly through established safety reporting channels and support a just culture.
  • Maintain required qualifications, recency and type currency as per company and regulatory standards.

🌟 What you bring

  • Valid Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) issued by an ICAO/EASA/FAA member authority.
  • First‑Class Medical Certificate.
  • Radio Telephony Licence or appropriate endorsement on your flight crew licence.
  • Current and required type rating on licence for one of: B737 / A330 / DHC‑8 Q400 (as applicable).
  • ICAO English Language Proficiency Level 4 minimum.
  • Total flight time minimum 5,000 hours.
  • Minimum 1,000 hours as PIC on type.
  • Clean safety record with no accidents/incidents attributable to gross negligence.

📍 Location & operations

Base of operations is Kigali International Airport, supporting RwandAir’s network with assignments on the Boeing 737, Airbus A330 or DHC‑8 Q400 fleet as determined by operational needs and your current type rating.
