🧭 The Role: Commander (Pilot‑in‑Command)

As Commander, you hold ultimate responsibility for the aircraft, the welfare of passengers and crew, and strict adherence to all applicable rules and procedures across every phase of flight. This is a leadership role that calls for sharp judgement, strong technical acumen, and confident decision‑making in a dynamic regional environment.

🧰 Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as Pilot‑in‑Command with full accountability for safety, compliance, and operational performance from preflight to shutdown.
  • Lead and mentor the crew, championing effective CRM, professionalism, and a just culture.
  • Conduct robust preflight planning, including performance, fuel, and weight & balance in accordance with ECCAA regulations and company manuals.
  • Make timely, risk‑based decisions and adapt to changing weather, airfield, and operational conditions across the Caribbean network.
  • Manage normal, abnormal, and emergency procedures with clear crew coordination and calm, concise passenger communication.
  • Coordinate with operations control, maintenance, and ATC to deliver safe, reliable, and punctual services.
  • Maintain accurate flight documentation and uphold company SOPs and regulatory requirements.
  • Represent LIAT (2020) Limited with professionalism and a strong customer focus.

  • Type rating: Not required — training provided for the assigned fleet.
  • License: Unrestricted ATPL issued by an ICAO contracting state.
  • Medical: Class 1.
  • ICAO ELP: Level 4 (minimum).
  • Flight time: Minimum total and command experience as stipulated by the company and the authority.

Note: Verification of credentials and eligibility will be conducted in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
