🧰 Role Overview

As Commander (Pilot-in-Command), you hold overall responsibility for the safe operation of the aircraft, the welfare of passengers and crew, and full compliance with all applicable regulations in every phase of flight. This role calls for decisive leadership, technical proficiency, and sound operational judgement in varying conditions across a dynamic regional network.

📌 Key Responsibilities

• Exercise command of the aircraft, ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence gate-to-gate.
• Lead, brief, and coordinate the flight and cabin crew, fostering a professional, safety-first cockpit and cabin environment.
• Conduct thorough preflight planning, performance calculations, and fuel planning in accordance with company procedures and ECCAA regulations.
• Monitor aircraft performance and systems, making timely, well-reasoned decisions in normal, abnormal, and emergency operations.
• Manage changing conditions, including weather and ATC requirements, to maintain safety, efficiency, and customer care.
• Ensure accurate flight documentation and adherence to company operations manuals, SOPs, SMS, and QA processes.
• Represent LIAT with professionalism, delivering a calm, courteous, and customer-focused onboard experience.

📏 Minimum Requirements

• Type rating: Not required (Training Provided)
• Flight time: Minimum flight hours and command experience as stipulated by company and authority
• License: ATPL
• Open to lic. holders: ICAO
• Medical: Class 1
• ICAO ELP level: 4

🎓 Training & Development

Type rating is not required; LIAT provides the training you need to operate within our multi-aircraft regional fleet. Ongoing recurrent training and checking support continued proficiency and regulatory compliance.
