Lead the Line as a RwandAir Captain
RwandAir invites experienced, type-rated Captains to take command across our B737, A330, and Q400 fleets. As Pilot-in-Command, you will be formally nominated by RwandAir management to lead flights with safety, professionalism, and exemplary airmanship from our home base in Kigali.

🧭 What You’ll Do
- Serve as Pilot-in-Command (Captain) on assigned flights upon nomination by RwandAir management.
- Exercise full operational authority and decision-making in accordance with company SOPs, the FCOM, and regulatory requirements.
- Lead pre-flight planning, performance calculations, fuel strategy, and weight & balance to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Champion a safety-first culture, applying disciplined CRM and threat & error management on every sector.
- Manage abnormal and emergency procedures precisely and in compliance with company and manufacturer guidance.
- Mentor and develop First Officers, fostering a high-performance, professional cockpit environment.
- Represent RwandAir with professionalism to passengers, crew, and operational stakeholders at all times.
🧰 Minimum Qualifications
- Total Time: 5,000 hours (minimum)
- Pilot-in-Command (in type): 1,000 hours (minimum) on the applicable type
- Type Rating: Current and endorsed on license for B737, A330, or Q400 (as applicable)
- License: ATP/ATPL – accepted from EASA, FAA, or ICAO member states
- Medical: Class 1
- Language: ICAO English Language Proficiency Level 4 (minimum)
🌟 Additional Requirements
- Radiotelephony: Valid Radio Telephony License or endorsement on your flight crew license
- Safety record: No history of accidents/incidents attributable to gross negligence
- Relocation: Willingness to relocate permanently to Kigali, Rwanda
