✈️ About the Role

As a Wildfire Airtanker Pilot with Conair, you will execute safe, precise, and efficient aerial firefighting operations—often in mountainous terrain and dynamic environments. You’ll train regularly, uphold rigorous safety and operational standards, and collaborate with a high‑performing team driven by service and continuous growth.

🧭 What You’ll Do

  • Operate Conair fixed‑wing aircraft on wildfire suppression missions domestically and internationally.
  • Maintain exceptional airmanship in challenging conditions, including mountainous and variable‑weather environments.
  • Participate in recurrent training and checks; adhere to all safety, regulatory, and company procedures.
  • Work closely with air and ground teams to deliver accurate, timely drops that protect communities and critical infrastructure.

🧰 What You Bring

  • Citizenship/Work Status: Canadian citizen or legal right to work in Canada; able to obtain visas for international assignments.
  • Residence: Willing to reside in Canada during the fire season.
  • Documents: Valid Canadian driver’s licence and passport.
  • Medical: Eligible for a Canadian Category 1 Medical Certificate.
  • Licensing: Canadian ATPL preferred; strong CPL candidates considered if near ATPL and with exceptional experience.
  • Flight Time: Minimum 2,000 hours total time.
  • PIC: Minimum 1,000 hours Pilot‑in‑Command.
  • Mountain Experience: Minimum 250 hours in mountainous terrain.
  • Currency: Recent flight experience within the last 12 months.
  • Specialized Roles (as applicable):
    • Seaplane/skimmer: 500 hours PIC on a seaplane in commercial operations; or
    • Tailwheel: 200 hours on certified tailwheel aircraft.

    Note: Lack of seaplane or tailwheel time does not preclude consideration for other pilot roles.
