🧭 Your Mission

As Second-in-Command, you’ll fly right seat and execute Tropic Ocean Airways’ Standard Operating Procedures to deliver safe, efficient, and guest-focused flights. You’ll champion operational discipline, clear communication, and exceptional service from preflight to shutdown.

🧰 What You’ll Do

  • Meet or exceed all SIC duties while adhering to company SOPs and core values.
  • Follow all instructions in the General Operations Manual, operations bulletins, and applicable regulations and policies.
  • Ensure legal rest, complete preflight planning, and have aircraft and load ready 15 minutes prior to departure.
  • Execute all checklists, standard radio calls, and position reports; operate safely in day, night, and instrument conditions.
  • Report at least one hour before departure for scheduled and charter flights.
  • Assist with passenger escorting, boarding/deplaning, and loading/unloading freight.
  • Note and communicate aircraft discrepancies for maintenance review; prioritize flight crew safety and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain professional communication with internal and external stakeholders; support a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Complete assigned training and perform additional operational duties as directed by the Chief Pilot.

🌟 What You Bring

  • Minimum total time: 250 hours.
  • Certificates & Ratings: FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with Airplane Single-Engine Land (ASEL), Instrument Rating, and High-Performance endorsement.
  • Seaplane: FAA Commercial Airplane Single-Engine Sea (ASES).
  • Medical: FAA Second-Class Medical Certificate.
  • Work Authorization: Valid U.S. Passport or Green Card.
  • Radio Permit: FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
  • Readiness: Overnight availability may be required.
  • Physical: Ability to lift 50 lbs, sit or stand for extended periods, and climb stairs throughout the day.

🧩 Preferred Qualifications

  • Garmin G1000 experience.
  • Turbine time.
  • Cessna 208 experience.
  • Prior seaplane operations experience.

License required: CPL
