Join Joby Aviation’s Flight Research team in Concord, California to lead crewed and uncrewed flight test operations—with a primary focus on the Cessna Caravan program. You’ll serve as airborne and remote PIC, shape test plans and cards, analyze results, and collaborate closely with engineering on systems design, human interfaces, and airspace integration.
🧭 What you’ll do
- Serve as airborne and remote PIC for crewed and uncrewed R&D aircraft across program phases.
- Plan and execute structured flight tests; develop test plans and cards; conduct briefs and debriefs.
- Analyze flight data, author clear test reports, and present actionable findings.
- Partner with engineering on systems design, human–machine interfaces, and airspace integration.
- Uphold SOPs, safety management practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Support occasional deployed testing at remote sites.
🧰 What you’ll bring
- FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with Instrument-Airplane rating.
- Minimum 750 hours PIC and 100 hours turbine time.
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Engineering preferred).
- 5+ years in aviation operations and 3+ years of test-pilot experience.
- Ability to develop test plans/cards, analyze data, and write concise technical reports.
- Strong cross-functional communication and safety-first judgment.
