SkyCare’s structured Captain Development Program starts in ground operations, moves to the Navajo First Officer seat, and advances to the Metro left seat—supporting medevac, time-critical cargo, and specialized charter missions across North America and the Caribbean.
✈️ Program at a glance
- Phase 1 – Ground Operations: Begin as an Operations Coordinator or Aircraft Groomer to master the flow of a 24/7 aviation operation.
- Phase 2 – Navajo First Officer: Transition to the right seat after initial training and competency milestones.
- Phase 3 – Metro Captain (Left Seat): Advance to command once training, performance, and operational readiness align.
Progression depends on performance, completion of training, operational readiness, and company needs.
🧰 What you’ll do
- Operations Coordinator (Sioux Lookout):
- Support the SOCC Coordinator and Flight Follower team
- Handle customer quoting, flight following, and real-time coordination
- Manage cargo receiving and customs documentation
- Operate flight information systems to keep flights timely and organized
- Aircraft Groomer (Sioux Lookout, Thunder Bay, Kitchener–Waterloo, or St. Andrews):
- Groom, detail, and fuel company aircraft
- Load/unload cargo and baggage; operate ground equipment and tow aircraft as needed
- Maintain hangars, offices, vehicles, and facilities
- Assist with commissary and customer service
- Flight Deck Progression:
- Serve as Navajo First Officer following the initial operational phase
- Advance to the Metro left seat upon meeting training and operational standards
🧭 What you bring
- Licences: TC CPL with Group 1 Multi-IFR
- Medical: Valid TC Class 1 Medical
- Flight time: Minimum 250 hours total time
- Work eligibility: Legally entitled to work in Canada
- Security: Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector completed within the last 30 days
- Physical: Able to lift at least 50 lbs
- Calm, customer-focused decision-making and strong teamwork under time pressure

📍 Where you’ll work
Based in Sioux Lookout, Ontario, supporting remote northern communities with medevac services, time-critical cargo, and specialized charter operations across North America and the Caribbean. Ground assignments for Aircraft Groomers may also be available in Thunder Bay, Kitchener–Waterloo, and St. Andrews.
