Empire Airlines is hiring a full-time ATR Captain in Billings, Montana. As Captain, you will lead safe, efficient, and compliant operations while exercising command authority across every phase of flight. If you’re a decisive leader with strong communication skills and the required Part 121 experience, we’d love to hear from you.
🧭 What you’ll do
- Exercise command and ensure safe, efficient operation of the ATR throughout all phases of flight.
- Monitor weather, flight conditions, and cargo safety; verify go/no-go decisions, fuel needs, loading, and alternates.
- Make timely operational decisions, including alternate-destination selections when required.
- Maintain clear, effective communication with stations, towers, flight controllers, and Dispatch.
- File required FAA reports; promptly report unusual aircraft behavior or performance to Dispatch or Maintenance.
- Accurately record flight hours with Dispatch; comply with FAA rest requirements and company directives.
- Supervise and evaluate staff; act as a positive, constructive, and communicative leader.
- Stay current on regulatory and procedural updates; maintain thorough knowledge of company manuals, handbooks, and policies.
- Review daily bulletins, correspondence, emails, and voicemails; submit transmittals, expense reports, and documentation accurately and on time.
- Model ethical, professional conduct and support Empire Airlines’ mission; perform other related duties as assigned.
🧰 What you bring
- Certificates: ATP with MEL rating and a First-Class Medical.
- License required: ATP (unrestricted or restricted) with MEL.
- IFR: Current instrument currency and proficiency.
- Minimum flight time: 2,500 total time; 1,000 PIC; 1,000 multi-engine; 300 turbine/turboprop; 500 hours crew time under Part 121.436 Pilot Qualification.
- Compliance: Ability to meet company FAA/DOT Drug & Alcohol Program requirements.
- Soft skills: Excellent oral and written communication; sound judgment and professional decision-making.
