PA-28 Cherokee Captain (PIC) – Kodiak Island Operations

✈️ About the role

Island Air Service is hiring Pilots in Command to operate PA-28 Cherokees on Part 135 VFR scheduled and charter flights throughout Kodiak Island. This is hands-on flying in a dynamic environment that rewards strong airmanship, sound judgment, and community-minded service.

🧭 What you’ll do

• Operate PA-28 Cherokee Series aircraft on scheduled and on-demand routes under Part 135 VFR.
• Serve six villages on Kodiak Island with reliable, safety-first operations.
• Plan and execute flights while managing unpredictable weather conditions and terrain considerations.
• Operate confidently on short, gravel runways using precise soft/short-field techniques.
• Load and unload the aircraft, ensuring accurate weight and balance.
• Follow company SOPs and Part 135 requirements to the letter.

🧰 What you bring

• Minimum 500 hours total flight time (1000+ hours preferred).
• CPL and a valid Class 1 Medical Certificate.
• Meets Part 135 VFR minimums.
• Proven ability to manage unpredictable weather conditions.
• Experience operating on short and gravel runways.
• Physically able to load and unload the aircraft.
