This flexible, part-time role blends in-flight and ground instruction with professional mentorship, progress evaluations, and career guidance—anchored in a strong culture of safety, professionalism, and leadership.

As a Mentor Pilot, you’ll share hard-earned, real-world airline and corporate jet experience to help students and junior pilots build judgment, confidence, and professional discipline. Your involvement can range from occasional mentorship sessions to structured progress checks and end-of-course evaluations—always reinforcing industry best practices and NW Wings Aviation’s safety-first ethos.
🧭 What You’ll Do
- Mentor and support aspiring pilots throughout their training and early career development.
- Deliver practical insights from airline and corporate jet operations—professional standards, decision-making, CRM, and career pathways.
- Conduct progress checks before solo to confirm safety and proficiency, and complete end-of-course checks to verify readiness for the next stage.
- Lead structured mentorship sessions (in-person or virtual), modeling professionalism, discipline, and enthusiasm for aviation.
- Collaborate with NW Wings Aviation instructors to reinforce training objectives and industry best practices.
- Provide in-flight and ground training elements as appropriate to the mentorship and evaluation scope.
🧰 What You’ll Bring
- Current or former airline pilot, or corporate jet captain/first officer experience.
- Strong background in professional flight operations and multi-crew/CRM environments.
- Passion for teaching, mentoring, and supporting the aviation community.
- Excellent communication skills, professional demeanor, and role-model leadership.
- Comfort mentoring in-aircraft and on the ground, sharing practical operational know-how.
🎓 Licenses & Qualifications
- Accepted Certificates: ATP (Unrestricted), ATP (Restricted), or Commercial Pilot (CPL).
- Experience: Multi-engine experience required.
- Nice to Have: Prior instructional, checking, or standardization experience.
