Northeastern Aviation is recruiting on behalf of its client, Bond-Coat—a privately held corrosion-prevention leader serving the oil and gas sector for 45+ years—to hire an experienced Learjet 60XR Captain for its corporate flight department based in Odessa, Texas. This is a stability-focused role within a professional, safety-driven operation conducting FAR Part 135 and Part 91 flights.

  • Aircraft: Learjet 60XR
  • Operations: FAR Part 135 and Part 91
  • Residency: Houston or within commuting distance of Odessa/Midland
  • License required: ATP (Unrestricted)
  • Minimum flight time: 2,500+ total hours; 1,000+ turbine hours
  • Employment: Full-time (Part 91 contract opportunities may also be considered)

🧰 Key Responsibilities

  • Act as Pilot-in-Command of the Learjet 60XR, ensuring the highest standards of safety, compliance, and professionalism.
  • Plan and execute flights under Part 135 and Part 91, including preflight planning, risk assessment, and crew coordination.
  • Lead with clear communication, decisive judgment, and exemplary airmanship across all phases of flight.
  • Maintain aircraft and operational readiness, documentation, and proficiency in iPad-based flight applications.
  • Represent Bond-Coat with tact and discretion while supporting executive and corporate travel needs.
  • Note: Part 91 contract pilot opportunities may also be considered.

🧠 Qualifications

  • Flight time: Minimum 2,500 hours total time and 1,000 hours turbine.
  • Certificates: Unrestricted ATP, current FAA First Class Medical, valid FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
  • Documents: Valid passport and driver’s license; ability to freely enter/exit countries where company operates.
  • Skills: Excellent leadership and communication; fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Tech proficiency: Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and iPad-based aviation applications.
  • Experience: Prior success in a similar corporate/charter Captain role.
  • Domicile & work authorization: Reside in Houston or within commuting distance of Odessa/Midland; authorized to work in the United States.
  • Clearances: Ability to pass a 10-year background investigation, pre-employment drug screen, and CHRC.

🌟 Compensation & Schedule

  • Compensation: Competitive salary commensurate with experience, plus annual bonus opportunity and per diem.
  • Time off: Ten hard days off per month, scheduled at the pilot’s discretion.
  • Leave: Ten sick days annually.

  • Base of operations: Odessa, Texas (Odessa/Midland).
  • Travel: Domestic and international travel as required by company operations.
