Join a purpose-driven team mapping the frontlines of Australia’s natural hazards. Based in Jandakot, WA, you’ll fly the King Air B200 with an infrared line scanner operator to detect, track, and map bushfire and flood activity—delivering mission-critical data to support real-time decision making.

  • Operation: Bushfire & flood-mapping reconnaissance
  • Type rating: Not required (NTR – training provided)

🧭 Your Mission

  • Deploy the B200 and an infrared line scanner operator into operational environments to search for and map fire and flood areas.
  • Execute aerial survey and reconnaissance flights across varied terrain with a safety-first mindset.
  • Plan and brief missions, conduct dynamic risk assessments, and manage single-pilot workloads to a high standard.
  • Ensure accurate data capture and reporting to support emergency response and situational awareness.

🧰 What You’ll Bring

  • High levels of situational awareness and a safety-first attitude.
  • Demonstrated experience in aerial survey projects, including operations in potentially challenging terrain.
  • Comfort operating at short notice and adapting to evolving mission requirements.

🌟 Minimum Requirements

  • Total time: 2,000 hours
  • PIC time: 1,500 hours
  • Multi-engine: 500 hours
  • King Air B200: 500 hours total, including at least 50 hours within the last 3 years
  • Operations: Proven single-pilot experience
  • Licence: CASA CPL with Multi-Engine
  • Medical: Class 1
  • English: ICAO ELP Level 4 or higher

📍 Roster & Readiness

  • Location: Reside within 1–1.5 hours of Jandakot Airfield
  • Availability: Willing to work on call at short notice on a year-round roster
