Based at Durango–La Plata County Airport (DRO), you’ll deliver life-saving transport across Colorado’s Front Range and surrounding states on a predictable 7-on/7-off schedule.

✈️ The Mission

Fly critical-care patients and medical teams safely and efficiently throughout the Rockies and beyond. You’ll maintain readiness at the DRO base, launch rapidly, and execute single-pilot IFR operations that demand precision, professionalism, and calm decision-making.

🧭 What You’ll Do

  • Operate the King Air 200 as single-pilot for air ambulance missions across the Front Range and neighboring states.
  • Maintain readiness at the Durango base for rapid-response launches on ~800-mile average missions.
  • Conduct thorough preflight planning and inspections; ensure airworthiness and strict compliance with FAA, company, and medical partner procedures.
  • Oversee safe loading of patients, medical crews, equipment, and baggage; ensure proper weight and balance.
  • Coordinate with dispatch, ground crews, and medical teams to enable seamless, on-time mission execution.
  • Uphold FAA regulations, Flight for Life Colorado procedures, company flight operations manuals, and actively contribute to Mayo Aviation’s Safety Management System.

🧰 What You’ll Bring

  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship and a valid U.S. passport.
  • Current First Class Medical and ATP Certificate (Unrestricted).
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (not required).
  • Minimum flight time: 2,500 hours total, 500 hours multi-engine, 1,000 hours PIC.
  • Impeccable safety record and strong working knowledge of FARs.
  • Single-pilot and mountain terrain experience preferred.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Able to work 12-hour shifts.
  • Live within one hour of Durango, CO (DRO) or be willing to relocate.
