Jet Captain (Pilot in Command) – Private Charter & Aircraft Management

✈️ What you’ll do

• Assume command of the flight crew and overall responsibility for safe aircraft operation, exercising final authority per 14 CFR § 91.3.
• Decide on flight initiation, delays, cancellations, or destination deviations based on safety and operational considerations.
• Lead, brief, and direct the Second in Command (SIC) where applicable; ensure all crew are fit for duty and monitor in‑flight performance.
• Participate actively in the Safety Management System by identifying, reporting, and helping mitigate hazards.
• Plan and prepare each flight: determine fuel, oil, and oxygen needs; obtain weather, NOTAM, and operational briefings; and prepare or supervise flight plans.
• Verify aircraft weight and balance calculations and ensure operations remain within limitations.
• Conduct thorough preflight inspections and equipment checks; confirm required emergency equipment and catering are aboard.
• Provide clear, professional passenger briefings before each leg.
• Complete post‑flight duties, including flight logs, incident reports, and timely communication of maintenance write‑ups to the Director of Maintenance.
• Ensure the aircraft is airworthy with proper documentation and registrations on board.
• Serve as Ground Security Coordinator and Inflight Security Coordinator per TSA requirements.
• Report hazardous weather conditions to air traffic services as appropriate; promptly notify authorities in the event of an accident or incident.
• Report suspected communicable diseases per applicable procedures and advise air traffic control as required.
• Delegate tasks appropriately while retaining final responsibility for flight safety and compliance.

🧭 What you’ll bring

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 1,200 hours total flight time, including:
  • 500 hours cross‑country time
  • 100 hours night time (including at least 10 night takeoffs and landings)
  • 75 hours instrument time (minimum 50 hours actual)
• Certificates and ratings:
  • ATPL required for turbojet air carrier flights or aircraft requiring two pilots
  • CPL minimum for other aircraft
  • Appropriate category, class, and type rating for assigned aircraft
  • Instrument rating; multiengine rating if applicable
• Medical certification:
  • First Class Medical Certificate for ATP operations
  • Second Class Medical Certificate for other operations
  • Ability to maintain a current medical throughout employment and promptly notify management of any health issues
• Thorough knowledge of the General Operations Manual, FAA Regulations, Operations Specifications, and applicable Flight Manuals.
