First Officer – Widebody Fleet (Airbus/Boeing) | Abu Dhabi

🧭 The Role

As a First Officer, you’ll be a key member of the flight deck team—supporting the Captain to ensure every flight is safe, secure, and efficient while building the leadership skills for future command.

• Assist the Captain in all aspects of flight preparation, navigation, and operation in full compliance with Etihad procedures and regulatory standards.
• Maintain continuous and independent awareness of aircraft position, terrain, and weather to support safe navigation and decision-making.
• Communicate clearly and proactively, providing timely advice to the Captain to enable safe, efficient outcomes.
• Uphold exemplary discipline, conduct, and personal appearance, representing Etihad with professionalism at all times.
• Assume command in accordance with company procedures in the event of Captain incapacitation.

🧰 What You’ll Bring

To be considered, you must meet either Criteria A or Criteria B, plus all General Eligibility requirements.

• Criteria A
  • Minimum 2,500 hours total flying time
  • Minimum 1,500 hours on multi-crew, glass cockpit MPA
  • Minimum 1,000 hours on any Airbus widebody FBW or Boeing widebody aircraft
• Criteria B
  • Minimum 3,000 hours total flying time
  • Minimum 2,000 hours on any Airbus widebody FBW or Boeing widebody aircraft
• General Eligibility
  • Flown an Airbus widebody FBW or Boeing widebody aircraft within the last 12 months
  • Current type rating on an Airbus widebody FBW or Boeing widebody aircraft, valid for at least 2 more months at time of joining
  • Unrestricted ATPL or valid frozen ATPL (CPL/IR) issued by an ICAO member state
  • Unrestricted, current Class 1 medical
  • English language proficiency: ICAO Level 4 or higher
  • Must not have attained the age of 50 on the day of joining
  • Right to work in the UAE; EU passport not required
• Glass cockpit definition: Aircraft with an FMS coupled to APFDS
• If you hold a frozen ATPL: Provide ATPL theoretical knowledge exam results and an integrated ATPL course completion certificate
