🧭 Your mission
As a Direct Entry First Officer, you will operate modern, multi‑crew aircraft across a varied network, delivering safe, efficient and on‑time operations. You will support the Captain, uphold SOPs and contribute to an exceptional passenger and crew experience.
- Execute all phases of flight in accordance with company SOPs and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct thorough pre‑flight preparation, performance calculations and briefings.
- Manage navigation, communication and aircraft systems with sound situational awareness.
- Champion safety, CRM and Just Culture—actively participate in reporting and continuous improvement.
- Maintain recency, technical knowledge and professionalism through ongoing training.
🧰 Minimum qualifications
- Total time: 500 hours
- Licence: CASA Frozen ATPL
- Ratings: Multi‑Engine Instrument Rating (MEA IR) with endorsements for Instrument Approach 2D and 3D on an Australian Instrument Rating – Multi Engine Aeroplane
- Medical: Class 1
- English: ICAO ELP Level 6
- Accepted licences: CASA
- Type rating: Not required (training provided)
Preferred: We value recency — preference may be given to pilots who have flown at least 50 hours in the previous 12 months.
🔐 Clearances & eligibility
- The ability to pass a Drug and Alcohol Test
- The ability to pass a Qantas pre‑employment medical
- The ability to hold an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
- A current passport with unrestricted access to all Qantas ports of call
- Work rights: The right to work in Australia or New Zealand without restriction or sponsorship
- Visa sponsorship: Not provided
