Westair Aviation is expanding and seeking skilled Captains and First Officers to operate ERJ 135/145 aircraft safely and efficiently, uphold regulatory compliance, and deliver an exceptional experience for passengers and crew.
✈️ About the role
Based in Windhoek, you will be part of a professional flight crew operating ERJ 135/145 services across Africa. You’ll combine precision flying with disciplined decision-making, ensuring safety, comfort, and on-time performance on every sector.
🧭 Key responsibilities
- Operate the aircraft in compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards.
- Conduct pre-flight inspections.
- Review flight plans and weather conditions.
- Communicate with air traffic control.
- Navigate during flights.
- Perform take-offs and landings.
- Manage aircraft systems and controls.
- Respond to emergencies and take necessary safety actions.
- Coordinate with co-pilots, cabin crew, and ground personnel to ensure smooth flight operations.
- Maintain accurate flight activity records and complete required reports.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
🧰 Minimum requirements
Captain — ERJ 135/145
- Valid ATPL (ICAO).
- ERJ 135/145 type rating required.
- Minimum 3,000 hours total time.
- P1 experience on the ERJ with at least 500 hours PIC.
- Minimum 1,500 hours total PIC on multi-engine turbine or jet aircraft.
- Willing to travel extensively in Africa for 6–12-week periods.
- Preference given to Namibian citizens.
First Officer — ERJ 135/145
- Valid SACAA or NCAA CPL/ATPL.
- ERJ 135/145 type rating required.
- Minimum 1,000 hours total time.
- At least 100 hours on type.
- At least 100 hours on multi-engine turbine aircraft.
- Willing to travel extensively in Africa for 6–12-week periods.
- Preference given to Namibian citizens.
