Contour Airlines is seeking accomplished Captains to lead safe, reliable regional operations on the Embraer ERJ 135/145 from our San Juan base.
✈️ The opportunity
As Captain, you will serve as Pilot-in-Command for Part 135 on-demand charter flights, setting the standard for safety, professionalism, and exceptional service. From preflight planning to post-flight duties, you will lead the crew, make sound decisions, and deliver a smooth operation from our San Juan hub.
🧭 What you’ll do
- Command ERJ 135/145 operations under Part 135, ensuring full FAA and company compliance.
- Exercise decisive PIC authority to maintain the highest standards of safety and airmanship.
- Conduct thorough preflight planning, performance and weight-and-balance calculations, and fuel management.
- Lead effective crew briefings and cultivate a collaborative, professional cockpit environment.
- Adapt to an on-demand schedule, managing changing conditions, customer needs, and operational priorities.
- Maintain currency and proficiency through training, checking, and SOP adherence.
- Represent Contour Airlines with a polished, customer-focused demeanor on every leg.
🧰 What you’ll bring
- Valid U.S. Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate; English Proficiency Endorsement (EPE).
- Minimum 23 years of age.
- Current First-Class Medical Certificate.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
- Current, valid passport.
- Able to lift 75 lbs routinely.
- Minimum flight time: 1,500 total hours; 500 PIC; 500 multi-engine. (Recommended: 2,000 total, 1,000 PIC, 1,000 multi-engine.)
- Able to work nights, weekends, holidays, and varying schedules.
- Reside within 120 minutes of SJU.
- No excessive check ride failures.
- No previous aviation-related accidents or incidents.
- Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor.
- Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment; self-motivated.
- Must pass DOT pre-employment drug screen and participate in FAA & Company random drug/alcohol testing.
- 10-year work history review, criminal background check, and fingerprinting required.
- Ability to work in compliance with OSHA, EPA, state, and federal regulations.
- Spanish fluency preferred but not required.
