Lead and inspire as a Training Captain on the Embraer E‑Jet E170/E190
Drive safety, standards, and pilot development across a modern E‑Jet operation. As a Training Captain, you’ll mentor crews, deliver high‑impact training and checking, and help shape a best‑in‑class flight operations culture.
✈️ The opportunity
Take a leading role in building capability and consistency across the E‑Jet fleet. You’ll conduct ground, simulator, and line training; perform checking to regulatory and company standards; and coach flight crew to deliver safe, smooth, and on‑time operations.
🧭 What you’ll do
- Deliver flight crew training across the Embraer E170/E190, including line and simulator activities.
- Conduct checking and proficiency assessments in accordance with approved syllabi and company policies.
- Mentor Captains and First Officers, promoting standardisation, TEM, and evidence‑based best practice.
- Champion safety and continuous improvement, contributing to SOP refinement and training content.
- Support compliance with all applicable operational, licensing, and training regulations.
- Model leadership, professionalism, and a customer‑focused mindset on every sector.
🧰 What you’ll bring
- Minimum 4,000 hours total time.
- Current and valid E‑Jet type rating on the Embraer E170/E190.
- Recent command experience on type.
- Proven experience in training and/or checking on multi‑crew, transport category jet aircraft.
- Unrestricted ATPL issued by an ICAO authority.
- Valid Class 1 medical.
- ELP Level 5 (ICAO) or higher.
📜 Additional requirements
- Ability to obtain an Australian Certificate of Validation and/or Australian ATPL (A) licence.
- Ability to pass a Qantas pre‑employment medical and drug and alcohol test.
- Eligibility to hold an ASIC.
- A current passport with unrestricted access to all Qantas ports of call and at least 12 months’ validity.
