🧭 Mission & Role
As Captain on the DHC‑8 Q‑Series, you will lead complex ISR and maritime patrol missions that protect people, resources, and borders. You will command long‑duration sorties, coordinate closely with mission crews, and deliver safe, disciplined operations in challenging environments across Canada and abroad.
- Lead 8–9 hour ISR sorties in a missionized DHC‑8 cabin environment.
- Plan, brief, and execute flights across diverse weather, seasons, and terrain.
- Partner with mission systems operators, maintenance, and operations teams to ensure readiness and mission success.
- Champion safety, SOP discipline, and regulatory compliance at all times.
- Deploy domestically and internationally on a rotational basis, sometimes at short notice.
- Contribute to continuous improvement in procedures, training, and mission effectiveness.
🧰 Minimum Qualifications
- License: ATPL (TCCA)
- Medical: Class 1
- ICAO ELP: Level 4 or higher
- Type rating: DHC‑8 Dash 8 (required)
- Total time: 4,000 hours
- PIC in type: 1,500 hours
- In type: 500 hours
- Special missions: 1,000 hours MPA (Maritime Patrol Aircraft) or Special Missions experience
Preferred: Military aviation experience considered an asset.

- Must be able to obtain required security clearances.
- The ability to travel frequently, including international travel.
- Must be able to participate in rotations as required.
- Able to work in an aircraft cabin environment with 8–9‑hour missions on larger DHC‑8 platforms.
- Travel with the aircraft on a rotational basis for extended periods domestically and internationally; sometimes at short notice; operating in all weather, seasons, and terrain.
- Work during early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays during On Duty periods.
