Ameristar Air Cargo is hiring experienced DC‑9 Captains to fly time‑critical, unscheduled freight missions. If you hold an FAA ATP with an unrestricted turbojet type rating (DC‑9/MD‑80 preferred) and thrive in a dynamic, go‑anywhere cargo environment, this is your seat.
🧭 What you’ll do
- Command DC‑9 cargo flights supporting rapid, on‑demand freight transportation.
- Exercise PIC authority to deliver safe, compliant operations under applicable FARs.
- Plan and execute missions efficiently, adapting to changing schedules, routes, and weather.
- Lead and coordinate with flight crews, dispatch, and ground teams to meet time‑critical objectives.
- Maintain currency, proficiency, and professional standards through training and checks.
🧰 What you’ll bring
- FAA ATP certificate with an unrestricted turbojet type rating (DC‑9/MD‑80 preferred).
- Minimum 3,000 hours total flight time.
- Minimum 500 hours turbojet time.
- FAR Part 121 experience preferred.
- FCC Radio License.
- Current First Class Medical Certificate.
- Computer literacy (preferred).
- Must not have reached 65th birthday (per FAA age requirements).
- Current passport.
- Currently authorized to work in the United States (no relocation or visa sponsorship offered).
- Ability to successfully complete TSA security and PRIA background checks.
- Willingness to enter into a training agreement.
