✈️ The Mission

As the Flight Engineer (Second Officer), you will be a core member of a three-person crew, ensuring safe, efficient operations of DC‑10/MD‑10 aircraft across all phases of flight. You’ll manage complex aircraft systems, execute procedures and checklists, and provide critical performance, fuel, and systems monitoring that keeps every mission on time and on spec.

🧭 What You’ll Do

  • Conduct detailed preflight, inflight, and postflight systems checks and performance calculations.
  • Monitor and manage aircraft systems, fuel, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and pressurization parameters.
  • Execute normal, abnormal, and emergency checklists in close coordination with the Captain and First Officer.
  • Support flight planning, weight-and-balance, MEL/CDL compliance, and operational risk assessments.
  • Maintain accurate logs, discrepancies, and maintenance coordination in accordance with company and FAA standards.
  • Champion safety, standardization, and procedural discipline on every leg.

🧰 What You’ll Bring

  • Heavy jet background: Experience on the B‑707 and/or KC‑10/DC‑10 is required.
  • Licensing: FAA FE License with Turbojet rating.
  • Clearance: Eligible for DoD Secret level; current status within the previous two years.
  • Communications: FCC Radio License.
  • Travel-ready: Current, valid passport or travel documents allowing multiple re-entries to the U.S.
  • Driving: Valid driver’s license.
  • Work authorization: Legal eligibility to work in the United States.

🌟 Minimum Requirements

  • Total Time: 2,000 hours
  • License Required: FE (FAA)
  • Type Rating: Not required (Training Provided)
  • Medical: Class 2
  • Recency: Heavy aircraft flight time in the last 12 months preferred

🧩 Certifications & Clearances

  • FAA FE License with Turbojet rating
  • FCC Radio License
  • Eligible for Secret security clearance with current status in the previous two years

Candidates may be asked to provide verification of a current DoD security clearance.
