Dash 8‑300 Captain – Aerial Firefighting (Direct Entry)

✈️ The Mission

Ensure the safe, efficient operation of our Dash 8‑300 fleet in support of aerial firefighting. You will lead multi‑crew operations, uphold the highest safety standards, and deliver reliable, responsive aviation support where it’s needed most.

🧭 What You’ll Do

• Serve as Pilot in Command on Dash 8‑300 flights supporting aerial firefighting operations from international bases.
• Report to and collaborate with the Director of Flight Operations; execute missions in accordance with company SOPs and applicable regulations.
• Lead the flight crew, ensuring effective communication, briefings, and decision‑making in dynamic environments, including overnight operations.
• Conduct thorough flight planning, performance and weight‑and‑balance calculations, fuel planning, and weather/terrain assessments.
• Coordinate closely with dispatch, maintenance, and ground agencies to maintain aircraft readiness and mission timeliness.
• Apply sound judgment and risk management; identify problems quickly and implement practical, safe solutions.
• Maintain required training, currency, and records; champion our Safety Management System and continuous improvement culture.

• Total time: 1,500+ hours
• Pilot‑in‑Command: 500+ hours
• In type (Dash 8): 250+ hours
• Type rating: Required on Dash 8
• Licences: TCCA CPL with IR and ME
• Medical: Class 1
• ICAO English: Level 4 or higher
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated problem‑solving ability; able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to work overnight shifts and travel/rotate to international bases as required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a clear criminal background check.
