Client Aviation Manager & Praetor 600 Captain – San Jose, CA

✈️ Lead and Fly as a Client Aviation Manager — Praetor 600

Solairus Aviation is seeking a Full-Time Client Aviation Manager (CAM) to lead a San Jose–based flight department while serving as an active Praetor 600 captain. This is a hands-on leadership role for a proven aviator who thrives at the intersection of flight operations, people leadership, and safety.

🧭 The Opportunity

As CAM, you will supervise a high-performing team, steward budgets and training programs, and ensure unwavering compliance with FAA and company standards—all while flying the managed aircraft. You’ll be a culture carrier for safety, service, and operational excellence.

🧰 What You’ll Do

  • Supervise assigned personnel to ensure compliance with Solairus, FAA, and other manuals and regulations.
  • Coordinate, schedule, and review training for crew and maintenance personnel; maintain training currency and monthly flight time records for each crewmember.
  • Plan and conduct maintenance test, training, and other flights as required.
  • Develop and refine scheduling procedures with clients; forecast pilot relief needs and notify the Client Responsible Officer.
  • Approve/schedule PTO and review expense accounts for assigned personnel.
  • Participate in interviews and selection of assigned personnel.
  • Manage departmental budgets and records to support efficient, compliant operations.
  • Actively participate in the Safety Management System (SMS).
  • Serve as a Praetor 600 captain, supporting line flying as operational needs dictate.

🌟 What You Bring

  • Typed on Praetor 600.
  • Valid First Class Medical.
  • Total Time: 3,000 hours.
  • Pilot in Command (PIC): 1,500 hours.
  • Multi-Engine Land (MEL): 1,500 hours, including 500 hours MEL PIC.
  • Turbojet Time: 500 hours.
  • Instrument Time: 250 hours.
  • Management background with a demonstrated track record of exceptional leadership.
  • NBAA CAM certification or other applicable leadership training preferred.
  • Ability to work on an on-call basis and complete ICAO International Procedures training annually.
  • Located or willing to relocate within 2 hours of KSJC.
