Solairus Aviation is seeking a proven aviation leader to manage a client flight department in Reno while serving as a typed Gulfstream G550 pilot. If you thrive at the intersection of leadership, safety, and world-class flight operations, this is your runway.
✈️ The Mission
As the Client Aviation Manager, you will own the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of a G550 program. You will lead and mentor assigned flight and maintenance personnel, partner closely with the client, and uphold Solairus standards while flying the line as a typed captain.
🧭 What You’ll Do
- Lead day-to-day flight department operations, ensuring alignment with Solairus and FAA manuals, regulations, and company policies.
- Supervise assigned crew and maintenance team members; set expectations for professional appearance, dress code, and conduct.
- Coordinate, track, and review crew and maintenance training; schedule maintenance, test, and training flights.
- Develop and refine scheduling procedures in partnership with the client to meet mission needs.
- Approve PTO and expense reports; conduct personnel meetings and participate in hiring interviews.
- Notify the Client Responsible Officer of pilot-relief needs and support coverage planning.
- Submit timely operational reports and maintain Training Currency and Monthly Flight Time Records.
- Champion the Safety Management System (SMS) and foster a proactive safety culture.
- Fly as a typed G550 pilot, maintaining high standards of airmanship and regulatory compliance.
🧰 What You’ll Bring
- Total flight time: 3,000+ hours.
- PIC: 1,500+ hours.
- MEL: 1,500+ hours; MEL PIC: 500+ hours.
- Turbojet time: 500+ hours.
- Instrument time: 250+ hours.
- Current type rating on Gulfstream G550.
- Current First Class Medical.
- Proven management background with demonstrated leadership.
- NBAA CAM certification or other applicable leadership training preferred.
- Ability to work on-call and complete annual ICAO International Procedures training.
- Located within, or willing to relocate to within, 2 hours of KRNO.
