Ocean Aviation Services Limited is seeking a seasoned aviation leader to serve as Operations Manager and Chief Pilot for our corporate flight department in Saint John, NB. You’ll blend hands-on leadership with active flying on a two-aircraft Challenger 350/3500 fleet, delivering safe, reliable national and international flight services to Ocean Capital Holdings Limited and its group of companies. This position reports to the Accountable Executive and encompasses full departmental management aligned with Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) Chief Pilot duties.

🧭 Key Responsibilities

  • Department Leadership & Compliance: Serve as Operations Manager and Chief Pilot per CARs, owning standards, manuals, SOPs, and compliance. Oversee the Safety Management System, internal audits, and risk controls; liaise with regulators and external partners as required.
  • Active Line Flying: Fly the Challenger 350/3500 as PIC, maintaining all required currency, proficiency, and medicals. Lead by example in professionalism, decision-making, and customer service.
  • Flight Operations Management: Ensure safe, efficient trip planning and execution for domestic and international missions, including crew scheduling, route/permit/customs coordination, and performance planning.
  • People & Training: Recruit, mentor, and develop flight crew; manage training, checking, and standardization; foster a strong CRM culture and a just, safety-first environment.
  • Safety & Quality: Champion hazard reporting, trend analysis, and continuous improvement. Drive operational readiness, emergency response preparedness, and best practices adoption.
  • Stakeholder Partnership: Collaborate with business leaders to align flight operations with corporate priorities. Coordinate closely with maintenance and vendors to optimize aircraft availability and service quality.

🧰 What You Bring

  • Canadian ATPL with Group 1 Instrument Rating; strong multi-crew jet PIC background.
  • Proven leadership experience as a Chief Pilot and/or Operations Manager under CARs within a corporate or commercial jet environment.
  • Challenger 350/3500 experience or type rating preferred; super-midsize business jet experience considered an asset.
  • Deep knowledge of CARs, SMS principles, crew training/standardization, and international operations.
  • Exceptional judgement, communication, and stakeholder management; discretion and service excellence with corporate passengers.
  • Eligibility to travel internationally; ability to obtain and maintain required aviation/security clearances.
  • Based in or willing to relocate to Saint John, NB; flexibility for operational demands and variable schedules.
