Challenger Flight Test Captain — Production, Demo & Acceptance
✈️ Lead critical Challenger flight test missions
Bombardier’s Montreal Flight Operations is seeking a Flight Test Captain to join the Challenger Flight Test team in Dorval, Quebec, Canada. In this role, you will validate aircraft airworthiness through production ground and flight tests, conduct demonstration and Customer Acceptance flights, and support ferry operations—while collaborating closely with a high-performing team.
🧭 What you’ll do
- Conduct production ground and flight tests to validate aircraft airworthiness.
- Fly demonstration missions for prospective customers.
- Lead Customer Acceptance flights and perform ferry flights as assigned.
- Execute thorough pre- and post-flight activities, including briefings, debriefings, and data review.
- Support extended weekend schedules when required to meet program milestones.
- Assist the Bombardier Flight Test Center as needed.
- Review manuals and other technical documentation to ensure accuracy and currency.
🧰 What you bring
- Valid Canadian ATPL and Class 1 medical.
- Minimum 3,500 hours total time, including at least 500 hours as PIC on large multi‑engine aircraft.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours and travel on short notice.
- The right to live and work in Canada.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset.
- Proven ability to perform aircraft-commander duties while maintaining positive, professional crew and stakeholder relationships.
- Calm, sound decision-making under pressure and in dynamic test environments.
- Working knowledge of MS Office for briefings, reports, and documentation.
🌟 Preferred assets
- Previous flight-test experience or a strong technical background in certification or training.
- U.S. ATP.
