Challenger 300 Captain (PIC) – Hawthorne, CA
Challenger 300 Captain (PIC)
Advanced Air, LLC is hiring a proven Challenger 300 Captain to lead a two-pilot Part 135 operation based at Hawthorne Municipal Airport (HHR). You’ll command safe, exceptional VIP and owner operations while owning aircraft readiness on the ground. This is a non-commutable role requiring residence in, or relocation to, the Hawthorne/Greater Los Angeles area.
✈️ The Opportunity
As Pilot in Command, you’ll lead a tight-knit two-person crew, deliver white-glove owner service, and ensure the Challenger 300 is mission-ready at all times. You’ll balance flight deck excellence with hands-on aircraft presentation, logistics, and coordination with our VIP and Flight teams.
🧭 Key Responsibilities
- Serve as Pilot in Command, reporting to the Chief Pilot (or Director of Operations in their absence), retaining final authority for safe operation under FAR 91.3.
- Plan and execute owner flights; review briefs for weather, procedures, special instructions, and crew assignments.
- Maintain Part 135 qualification on type; comply with company ops manual, ops specs, SOPs, and all applicable regulations.
- Lead and schedule a two-person crew; manage vacation requests and ensure coverage for owner-related tasks.
- Coordinate with Advanced Air’s VIP and Flight teams for owner flying, maintenance events, and crew training.
- Own aircraft readiness: AFM preflight inspection, document verification, security, and post-flight standards.
- Oversee aircraft cleaning, stocking, and presentation; arrange onboard laundry/dry cleaning; manage linens, towels, crew/owner uniforms, and inventories.
- Keep the cabin owner-ready: maintain galley and supplies; ensure amenities and consumables (food, candy, medicine, beverages) are in-date and stocked.
- Verify passenger-facing electronics are operational prior to each flight (iPads with current movies, music iPod, AirShow, Wi‑Fi, and entertainment systems).
- Handle aircraft-related logistics: stocking, loading, unloading, and vendor coordination; attend vendor meetings, accept deliveries, and supervise service providers.
- Support owner service requests including errands and aircraft-servicing needs (e.g., picking up/delivering dishes, amenities, catering, and personal effects).
- Manage aircraft expenses within budget; contribute to SOPs, checklists, LOA approvals, and CL300 materials as directed.
- Update flight and duty records; determine eligibility for next assignment; report and resolve maintenance discrepancies per company procedures.
- Participate in the Safety Management System (SMS): identify/report hazards, provide timely input, and apply processes to mitigate safety and quality issues.
- Devote full working time exclusively to this account; no outside flying/services without written permission from the Chief Pilot or Director of Operations.
- Perform other tasks reasonably related to aircraft operation, presentation, service, and readiness, in flight and on the ground, as directed by the owner or representative.
