Western Global Airlines delivers worldwide air cargo charter solutions for e-commerce, express, freight forwarders, logistics partners, nonprofits, and governmental organizations. As the First Officer, you will serve as Second-in-Command, operating the Boeing 747 safely and efficiently in strict compliance with all regulations, company SOPs, and Captain directives. Expect dynamic, long-haul missions and a structured tour of duty: 17 days away from home base.
🧭 What you’ll do
- Serve as Second-in-Command on B747 operations, executing global long-haul missions across diverse environments and time zones.
- Adhere to all regulatory and company requirements, maintaining the highest levels of safety, professionalism, and airmanship.
- Support the Captain with thorough preflight planning, performance calculations, fuel management, weather/NOTAM review, and risk assessment.
- Ensure strict compliance with MEL/CDL, weight and balance, and cargo loading procedures.
- Coordinate effectively with dispatch, maintenance control, ground handling, and cargo operations to deliver safe, on-time performance.
- Uphold Western Global’s safety culture, SOPs, and threat/error management practices on every leg.
🧰 Minimum qualifications
- Total Time: 2,500 hours
- License: ATP (FAA)
- Medical: Class 1
- Radiotelephone: FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit
- Record: No history of accidents or incidents
- Passport: Valid passport allowing unrestricted international travel (including for military contract requirements)
- Compliance: Ability to pass a DOT pre-employment drug test and 10-year background check
- License Holders: Open to FAA certificate holders
- Visa Sponsorship: Not provided
- Type Rating: Not required; B747 training provided
🌟 Preferred experience
- 1,000 hours of flight time under 14 CFR Part 121 operations.
- Up to 500 hours of military PIC time in a multiengine, turbine-powered, fixed-wing airplane may count toward the 1,000-hour preference.
- PIC time in operations under 14 CFR §135.243(a)(1) or § 91.1053(a)(2)(i), or any combination thereof, may also be credited toward the 1,000-hour preference.
