Compass Cargo Airlines is a fast-growing Bulgarian cargo operator flying a Boeing 737-800SF fleet alongside our Boeing 747-400F and 747-400ERF widebody operation, serving an expanding international network for major cargo customers. 🧭 About the role
As a B747-400 First Officer at Compass Cargo Airlines, you will fly long-haul and intercontinental sectors within a cargo-focused environment where night operations, tight ground turnarounds, and dangerous goods handling are part of everyday work. You will operate within a disciplined EASA framework, contribute to a calm, solution-oriented cockpit, and set the professional tone that drives the quality of our entire operation. Our 737-800SF network complements the widebody schedule, giving you exposure to a broad, dynamic operation under one roof.
🧰 What you’ll do
- Execute safe, efficient B747-400F/ERF operations across an international cargo network, including frequent night flying.
- Apply company SOPs, EASA-compliant procedures, and best-practice CRM to every phase of flight.
- Manage performance planning, fuel, and mass & balance for diverse cargo missions and rapid turnarounds.
- Coordinate closely with Flight Ops, OCC, Engineering, and Ground Handling to deliver punctual, reliable operations.
- Handle special loads and DG in line with training, regulation, and company policy.
- Maintain currency, training standards, and professional discipline on the line and in the simulator.
- Model clear communication, consistency, and teamwork that elevates the entire operation.
🌟 What you bring
- Licenses: Valid EASA CPL/ATPL (A) or MPL (A), not subject to operator bonding
- Type rating: Current B747-400 type rating
- Experience: Minimum 1,000 hours in-type (B747-400)
- Medical: EASA Class 1
- Language: ICAO English Level 4 or higher
- Mindset: Professional, collaborative, and calm under pressure; solution-oriented with strong situational awareness
- Soft skills: Strong communication and teamwork skills; consistent, reliable, and safety-focused
- Cargo readiness: Comfortable with night ops, quick turnarounds, and DG handling within EASA rules
