✈️ The Opportunity
As a B737-800 First Officer, you’ll partner with an experienced Captain and a close-knit crew to deliver safe, efficient, and memorable journeys for our passengers. You’ll operate a modern Boeing 737-800 fleet on routes that connect Aotearoa New Zealand with the Qantas network, representing the Qantas brand with professionalism and pride.
🧭 What You’ll Do
- Support the Captain to deliver safe, efficient, and compliant flight operations.
- Operate the Boeing 737-800 across New Zealand–Qantas network services.
- Uphold the highest standards of safety, training, and professionalism.
- Contribute to an excellent passenger experience as part of a collaborative flight crew.
🧰 What You’ll Bring
- Flight hours:
- 1,500 hours total flight time in an aeroplane.
- 500 hours powered fixed‑wing multi‑engine or single‑engine turbine time.
- Plus one of the following:
- 250 hours command on fixed‑wing aircraft, OR
- 250 hours command (up to 180 hours ICUS) and 500 hours as co‑pilot on a transport category aircraft.
- Minimum qualifications: Australian CASA ATPL(A) or CPL(A). CPL holders require passes in all Australian CASA or NZ CAA ATPL subjects (or ability to obtain before starting).
- Ratings & currency: CASA Multi Engine Aeroplane Instrument Rating with 2D/3D Instrument Approach endorsements, plus a current MEA Instrument Proficiency Check.
- Language & medical: Level 6 English Language Proficiency on your CASA licence and a current CASA Class 1 Medical.
- Security clearances: Eligibility for both ASIC (Australia) and AvSec (New Zealand) clearances.
- Travel documents: Valid passport with at least 12 months’ validity.
- Work rights: Legal right to live and work in New Zealand without restriction. Non‑NZ/Australian passport holders must hold NZ Permanent Residency.
- Type rating: Type Rated and Non‑Type Rated pilots are welcome to apply.
