Unity Airlines is seeking an experienced captain to command single-pilot BN-2 Islander operations across Vanuatu. This is hands-on flying that blends bush, charter, air ambulance, and scenic missions—delivered with real operational autonomy in a safety-first environment.

From coastal strips to rugged volcanic islands, you’ll operate point-to-point services that connect communities and visitors throughout the archipelago. Expect variety, meaningful impact, and the chance to refine your airmanship in one of the South Pacific’s most distinctive aviation settings.
🧭 What you’ll do
- Command single-pilot BN-2 Islander flights under VFR and IFR.
- Deliver bush, charter, scenic, and air ambulance missions across remote island airstrips.
- Conduct thorough flight planning, performance, weight & balance, and fuel calculations.
- Execute robust weather assessment, terrain and route risk management, and decision-making.
- Uphold SOPs and a just-culture approach to safety and reporting.
- Coordinate with operations and maintenance to ensure aircraft readiness and mission success.
- Represent Unity Airlines professionally with customers, medical teams, and community stakeholders.
🧰 What you’ll bring — Essential
- Licence: CPL with Multi-Engine Rating and Instrument Rating.
- Medical: Current Class 1 Medical Certificate.
- English: ICAO Level 4 or higher.
- Experience: Minimum 750 hours PIC.
- Multi-Engine: Minimum 100 hours Multi-Engine PIC.
- Demonstrated single-pilot VFR and IFR capability.
🌟 Desirable experience
- Remote area and bush operations, including short/limited infrastructure airstrips.
- Charter and/or air ambulance missions.
- Time on type: BN-2 Islander.
